Sunday Summary #64

The sun has finally appeared!!! Sunshine makes the world such a better place. I feel so happy and motivated and less tired when the sun is shining. Not even getting caught in the afternoon rain yesterday could dampen my mood. I made the error of visiting Primark this week and walking out £119 poorer. I got some lovely pieces though but their sizing is just terrible. I'll have to refund or exchange half of them. I also accidentally found myself in New Look giving in to their buy one get one free on jewellery. They have their swimwear section out but nothing very summery clothes wise yet. I am dying to buy summer clothes!!!
Me and my boyfriend have been discussing having our friends over for a barbeque as soon as possible and what to have on our table spread - haha not premature or anything! I've re-started epilating (OUCHIES!) as it can be time consuming and during the winter it was easier and warmer to shave in the shower. I forgot how much it hurts but its amazing for long lasting hair free legs. Plus when I epilated last summer my hair got to a point where it grew back patchy and finer so it got easier to epilate as the hairs being pulled out are smaller and took less time as the hair doesn't grow everywhere anymore. I'd recommend epilating to anyone as the pain gets better and the results are incredible. Lovely bit of personal grooming update for you there.

I am just so excited to see some decent weather and not having to bundle up like Michelin man everyday. Plus I am desperate to dig my leather jackets out. I've also been invited to my first ever wedding in September, words cannot describe my utter excitement at the prospect. I'm already looking for dresses and thinking of hair, make-up and nails for the day.

I watched The Voice last night and really enjoyed it. I've never taken to it, I watched last years on and off so wasn't too bothered for its return. I loved some of the acts on last night and think Jessie J is quite lovely. I loved her green talons last night. My boyfriend had been to London yesterday so he got back late and we caught up with Britain's Got Talent today. Another show I can take or leave but it happened to be on and my boyfriend enjoys it. Again there was some great acts and I adored Jack. Attraction were one of the best I've ever seen.
Lace top with printed cross necklace £8 - Primark
This is cheating a little as Mum got me this. I usually steer clear of lace as I love it but not sure it looks right on me. I think because this is white its not as hard to pull off as black lace - says the girl who used to wear lace tights, fishnets, mini skirts and lace tops all in black to under 18 clubs.
 Cool bag £5 - Primark
This pretty print caught my eye and with the sun being out it seemed appropriate to get something for picnics and what not. I'm not sure how good the lining will be for keeping food cool being from Primark but I shouldn't need it to keep cool for long periods of time.
Nivea Stress Protect £1.50, Revlon lip butter in Sorbet £7.99, Models Own in Purple Pukka £5, Natural Collection blush in Pink Cloud £1.99 - Boots
I used some 3 for 2 offers with my Mum as she wanted some stuff too. I love when Boots do 3 for 2 on almost everything. I love using the Revlon lip butters so couldn't resist this new shade as its a bright pink. The blush is ridiculously cheap but lasts on me all day and gives a lovely flush.

 Contrast jacket £25 - Primark
I really like these jackets and have been debating getting one for months. I don't think khaki is great on me so when I saw this lighter camel version I snapped it up. I'm not sold on it on me as I think it looks too harsh on me. Plus I never wear my jackets done up and this looks odd undone so I'll most likely return it.
 Pink blouse £12 - Primark
This caught my eye for the pretty detail along the top but on looks very plain so I'm not sure if I like it so much anymore.
Navy polka dot blouse £12 - Primark
I love navy and polka dot so I had to buy this but its too big for me so it'll have to go back.
Floral dress £10 - Primark
I LOVE this dress. It looks so pretty and summery on and I can't wait for an opportunity to wear it.
White and rose tiered top £12 - Primark
My Mum found this and it looks so pretty on, I love the watercolour effect that's still quite bright. My boyfriend's Grandad is having a party for his 80th in May so I need something lovely to wear so depending on the dress code it could be this.
Bright flower top £10 - Primark
I can't wait to wear this with bleached jeans or shorts in the summer.
Jewelled jumper £10 - Primark
The jewels on this got my attention and I'm hoping it looks nice on as I haven't tried it yet.
Denim shorts £10, frilly socks £1.50 each and Owl wash mitt £1 - Primark
I found the cutest pair of green shorts with pink flamingo print but they didn't have my size so I got this pair instead. They look quite baggy so I'm not sure how they'll look on. The Owl mitt was too cute to leave and the socks remind me of being little at primary school! I love them teamed with Mary Janes.
 All £4 - Primark
I think its outrageous how similar these are to the Topshop ones and at a fraction of the price. I already have 3 or 4 so wasn't going to get anymore but liked the pastels and I love teaming t shirts with skinny jeans and Converse.
Midi rings £6 (pack of 6) - ASOS
I've been searching for some of these for ages! I never know how to search for them as different places call them different things. I had been frustrated at everywhere being sold out and finally found ASOS had some in stock. Some are twisted and some are plain and I prefer the twisted ones.
Monochrome flower long necklace £5.99, Owl pendant £5.99 BOGOF - New Look
I can't resist a cute Owl necklace that much is clear. Its getting ridiculous how many I have but this one is quite different with his turquoise belly. I thought the monochrome flowers would be great with anything so would be a very versatile piece. I tend to wear long necklaces and pendants in the summer with blouses and tops.
Peace two strand necklace £6.99, multi cross necklace £5.99 BOGOF - New Look
I ummed and ahhed over both these necklaces. I love both peace signs and crosses but wasn't sure if either of these were very me. Being on offer definitely made the decision easier and I got them.
Anchor earrings and double finger ring £2.99 BOGOF - New Look
I already have items very similar to these but the low price and BOGOF meant I just had to get them. I love anchors as you'll know if you've read about my tattoos. I only got the earrings as I couldn't find anything else and I don't have a gold pair.

I'm already excited for Broadchurch and Made In Chelsea tomorrow night so here's hoping my 4'o'clock finish rolls around quickly tomorrow.
Hope you've all had good weeks

February Favourites

Literally unbelievable March is here already. I've been having a great week off from work, so sad its almost over and I'll be back to the rat race on Monday, le sigh.
I didn't buy any new products in February and used some of the many new and unopened products I already have. I had such a frugal month it was really nice to use some lovely items I'd had sitting for months in my room.
I got round to opening the Soap and Glory set from 2011 so there's alot of it in my favourites
Soap and Glory; Hand Food and Heel Genius
Firstly I have fallen head over heels in love with the insane scent of Soap and Glory. Its so hard to explain because it isn't overly floral, or fruity, or anything, its just this gorgeous mixture of rightness. It has a clean smell to it that lingers for ages after using a product and I couldn't stop smelling myself the first week I was using Soap and Glory haha. I struggle to find hand creams that work for me as my hands get so dry I need a really intense cream but I hate having greasy/slippery hands so like something that sinks in quickly but lasts through hand washing. For me Hand Food ticks all these boxes which is pretty amazing. Heel Genius is a similar cream in its thickness and sinks in quickly too. I never usually use a foot cream just whatever body butter/lotion I've got going but my feet felt softer than usual with this.
Soap and Glory; Clean On Me shower creme and Mist You Madly body mist, The Body Shop; Strawberry shower gel
Clean On Me has to be one of the most intoxicating smelling shower gels/cremes I have ever had the pleasure to use. It smells divine! This bottle is massive and a little goes a long way so it'll last me ages. I switched to the Body Shop Strawberry one as I get bored quickly and its nearly all gone so will go back to S&G. All Body Shop shower gels smell amazing and Strawberry is so sweet. I'm willing Spring to start! I've loved spritzing the Mist You Madly on as its the Soap and Glory scent in a bottle. If they had a perfume I'd definitely buy it!
Soap and Glory; Face Soap 3-in-1 facial washer and Pulp Friction body scrub
Two more amazing products. I'm a Soap and Glory convert for sure. Just as well I bought the 2012 Soap and Glory set too, I'm all S&G'd out. I find it hard to find face washes and scrubs that don't make my skin feel tight and horrible so it was pleasant surprise that Face Soap left my skin feeling soft, smooth and clean. Its so nice to use I've been making an effort to remember to use it as I usually forget or can't be bothered. Plus it smells amazing and again a little goes a long way. The Pulp Friction is the perfect scrub for sensitive skin as most scrubs scratch my skin leaving it sore and red. A Lush scrub actually once left me with loads of scratches all over my arms like a cat had attacked me. Again it smells amazing and even my boyfriend liked using it haha. The only downside is all the grit it leaves in the bath/shower. But just shows how much they've packed in and how little you need. A quick squirt and it's down the plug hole and forgotten about.
 Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
I've had this for ages which is testament to how much you get in a bottle. When I got this I didn't think it would make a difference to my skin but it has. My skin is softer, more subtle and brighter. It's always worth the extra money for a product that is going somewhere as important as your face as that's what will age you most. Once I hit 25 (in six months ARGH!) I want to start using anti-aging products as I was told that's the age...can't hurt even if its rubbish advice!
Revlon lip butter in Strawberry Shortcake
I bought this shade because everyone was raving about it and saying it was THE shade. However on the handful of times I applied it, I simply detested it. It looked tacky and cheap and horrible. It sat lost and unloved in my lipstick drawer until a few weeks ago. I was hunting for a subtle but pretty shade to wear out and grabbed this, applied it, and it was true love. Its the perfect everyday pretty pink. I'm bewildered as to how and why I overlooked this. Its been coming everywhere with me. Sometimes I think that with lipsticks you have to break through that outer layer to get the true colour/texture/application so it could have been that  as I've broken it now. I hope you know what I mean otherwise I sound crazy!
Rimmel Apocalips in Nova
Another colour I hated on first application. Then I used it for a day out and fell in love with the colour. Rimmel have really upped their game recently and have become much more popular. Its amazing to see all the new products coming out and how fiercely competitive brands are getting.I thought these might be sticky or tacky and collect on the inside of my lips. However its not the cheap product I thought it might be, I was really surprised at how much I liked it.  I want to get another colour but unsure what to go for. I'm braver with red lips now so it would be nice to get a red one to add to my collection.

So they are my favourites of the past month, I really like this month even though there isn't that many products and most are Soap and Glory. Now I'm back spending on make-up I'd love to see what your favourites are!

Sunday Summary #41

Had a better week with work being an easier and happier place to be. Plus I have this week off, woo! The temperature has really dropped this week and it's just got so cold so quickly. The regular transitions between a warm building to the cold outside has been playing havoc with my skin. I am slathering on my Clinique moisturiser but its just not cutting it. I bought some Pond's Cold Cream so I'm hoping the combination of that, Clinique and E45 will soothe the dryness.
I'm loving the shops filling with winter warmers and Christmas stuff. I always spend so much during the winter months, its definitely my favourite season. Me and the boyfriend went out with friends last night for dinner and cinema to see Skyfall. We chose a pub we've never been to before as it was Fireworks night and our usual was near the park. Somehow the pub thought me boyfriend had ordered rump steak with scampi on the side, the manager wouldn't accept that his staff had got it wrong but when he saw the receipt as 1x scampi and 1x rump steak he soon disappeared. He wasn't really too apologetic but did refund my boyfriend the difference as he'd paid more than what we'd ordered. Even though it was a silly mistake it does really put you off for the future and we didn't really have time with our cinema time slot approaching. Naively we presumed the cinema would be quiet but our showing had sold out 45 minutes before it started so we had to go for a later one and ended up queuing outside the screen for absolutely ages. Plus the security guard was being an absolute arse, rushing about telling people off for trying to queue and tried to stop me returning to my group after the toilet. It wasn't until I told him my belongings were down there that he just glared at me and walked off. It was mad how busy it was and the amount of people was insane. The screen was packed but the film was so so so so so amazing! I've never been a Bond fan, I enjoyed Casino Royale but never saw Quantum of Solace. I really didn't expect to enjoy Skyfall so much. Now I'm eagerly waiting for Breaking Dawn as our cinema just got IMAX so the boyfriend suggested we see it in that! I do want to read the books at some point so I don't have any idea what will happen in Part 2.
Best! Exclusive to Asda this year if you can't find any. Pudsey & Blush bages :)

Wilkinsons Tree decoration. Wanted to try this for ages.
 Treated myself :)
Revlon lip butter 080 Strawberry Shortcake, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stain 020 Lovesick and Revlon lip butter 090 Sweet Tart.
Topshop frilled socks (finally gave in). Building a board game collection, Cluedo was the next I got.
Primark mens Union Jack hat. Pink Owl pjs.
Can't resist all the Reindeer prints about atm. £5 Primark.
Disney Store Little Mermaid tree decoration.
This is quite heavy, not sure how it'll far on my tree but we'll see.
Love 80s music.
Sparklers with my boyfriend.
I missed seeing a Fireworks display this year but by the time I realised it was yesterday I'd already made plans and couldn't change. There's always next year, so me and the boy compensated with a little sparkler fun in the garden. I've actually bought quite a lot of Christmas stuff but I'm keeping it for a separate Christmas craft blog post I want to do. It's very exciting to think Christmas is getting so close now and I truly love it. I don't really know what I'll be doing with my week off so I might have a lot of shopping next week ;)
Hope you've all had good weeks

Sunday Summary #26

The weeks are going so fast at the moment. I know the summer goes quicker, or so it felt when I was younger but we haven't been having summer weather. My entire week off work has been grey, cloudy and raining quite considerably. Today was the first day that it was blue skies and sunshine, for the entire day. It felt so warm just standing in the sunshine. Had a lazy day with my boyfriend mostly in bed watching re-runs of the Only Way Is Essex. I've watched from the beginning and am unashamedly a huge fan. Since being with me he's heard about it and couldn't understand why Lauren is so disliked or certain things that have happened so I've been educating him. Love the drama that used to go down in the early days, and so weird seeing characters and remembering what I thought of them back then to what I do now. Its starts again tonight which is exciting. Its probably the only tv I watch every episode of.
Spent most of my week off chilling out. My best friend got a sickness bug so I was keeping clear but saw her Friday night for The Amazing Spiderman. I really did enjoy it second time round and so excited my boyfriend has got me into all these Marvel and DC films. Really enjoying my Cineworld Unlimited card, I never used to be a film person, I fidget and I have to be in the mood to watch a film. I get distracted so easily at home or at someone else's. I find it easier in a cinema to watch the film as there's no distractions except a few whispered words. Me and the boy went to see The Dark Knight Rises yesterday WOW. Amazing, I spent all evening thinking about it, pretty certain I dreamt about it, woke during the night thinking about it and then thought today we'll be going again soon. As soon as it finished my boy said he wanted to see it all over again. At nearly three hours long I was amazed that I hardly noticed the time at all. It didn't feel that long at all. I'm very new to the Batman films only having seen the first two in the last month and was blown away at both. The Dark Knight Rises did such a good job of ending it all and tying bits up. I don't know why but I've never taken Anne Hathaway very seriously. She was good in the Devil Wears Prada but Emily Blunt was better, I liked Love and Other Drugs also but more for Jake Gyllenhaal. I can't remember much else she has done  but she's amazing as Catwoman. Feminine but tough. I loved one scene she does with Batman down in the sewers and her last scenes are also epic. Oddly I find Bale's mouth very sexy in the Batman mask...I can't wait to see it again as there is so much to take in. I would highly recommend having seen the previous ones before this as you won't have a scooby what's going on. I had to ask my boy later about certain bits that I wasn't sure of. Very excited for the release of Ted, hoping its good as there is a lot of hype and advertising surrounding it. I've been pretty good this week shopping wise. Just a few bits I've picked up considering I've had seven days to shop I'm impressed.

Cake baking. Bits to cook for my boyfriend. Making Chicken Tonight with mashed potatoes. New Matalan cushion (front, £2 in the sale!!). My lovely boyfriend bought some american import goodies. My Ronnie.
My first ever Pop Tart!! Goodies from my Mum going to town <3. Using Ronnie on instaframe.
Bits from the Range: air dry clay, England themed bows, heart crystals and my favourite sweets. Heart crystals close up. Card making stickers plus animal themed ones for scrapbooking. Christmas card toppers (yes already, but they were 5 for £1 and I'm really into my card making). Big Buddha <3.
Owl necklace Matalan £6
Looks like a lot and its kind of cheating my Mum getting me some bits but she knows me so well and always gets me some epic finds. I love the Range for craft bits and I went for a storage box to keep my beads in. I love all the little crafty bits I find and I love their homeware section. I love buddhas and I haven't often seen more delicate ones like this, usually the chubby ones. I was hoping to find something in the Matalan sale but most things were size 16 and above. I couldn't resist the owl necklace and the cushion was an absolute bargain at £2! I am gaining too many cushions but I love them and when I move out they'll have more space to sit hopefully other than my bed. My lip is still giving me a lot of hassle but it has calmed down. It has bad and good days currently. I finally managed to wear my Revlon Just Bitten in Passion on Thursday YAY but my lip has been peeling alot. I'm not sure if its because of whatever is wrong or because I'm using cold sore remedies on it occasionally and that's how they get rid of one. I may attempt the doctors this week on my day off, the usual routine is no appointments for a few weeks unless its an emergency. We'll see how this week goes, it isn't as red as it has been.
Hope you've all had good weeks
