Northern Lights

I wanted something neutral but pretty for the Christening on Sunday and went for Utopia topped with a coat of Northern Lights. I left the bottles at my boyfriends, but I'll post about Utopia separately as Northern Lights has a pink tone to it so has changed Utopia slightly.
I am amazed at the holographic, sparkly, glittery, beautifulness of Northern Lights. It has to be one of the prettiest polishes I've ever worn. Had so many compliments on it and the photos just don't do justice.
These pictures were last night, in artificial light with flash.
Daylight without flash on my iPhone.
Evening iPhone photo with flash.
I can't wait to try out the other Models Own Wonderland polishes. This is a beautiful combination and I'm very pleased with Utopia as I thought I wouldn't like it!
Link me to your Wonderland posts and combinations :)

Sunday Summary #38

I've had such a nice week. Can't really put it into words, but it's a culmination of being exceptionally happy with my boyfriend and enjoyable times. I had a rough week at work, keep getting really bad migraines and some other issues. I think everyone goes through ups and downs at work, but mine have become more downs and I want to be happy a lot more in my work place, like I have been in the past.

My boyfriend was a gem and we went shopping on Friday once he'd finished work. He isn't a huge shopper but we needed a birthday present for his nephew Joshua and a Christening present for his other nephew Alexander. He shocked me when looking at Christening gifts, he suddenly got really excited and said "I can't wait to have a baby!" I guess it always seems to be women who are more eager for children, and as much as I am, I am waiting for at least another couple of years. It must be so exciting to be parents and everything it encompasses. I treated myself to a few bits but we were rushing around all the toy shops in town, looking for a present a five year old boy would love. As he loves Transformers we managed to find some. After my boyfriend had cooked me tea on Saturday and we were settled in for X Factor I got to wrapping the presents. The bow I made on the Christening present, is on my Instagram dolliegirl7.

The Christening was the first time I would meet his brother and wife and his sister and her husband plus their three children. Plus his Grandad and his partner, so yeah just a few new people! None of them live locally so there hasn't been an opportunity before. I was so nervous, bordering on petrified. It really meant a lot to me that they would like me. It worked out quite well as I met everyone in stages, and the more of them I met the better I felt. His brother is so like him! They are like twins in so many ways: looks, personality, laugh, voice, way of speaking, humour. Plus Alexander who was christened has definitely picked up the looks of my boyfriends family. I've yet to see a baby photo of my boyfriend but apparently Alexander is the spitting image of him as a baby. His nephew Joshua also looks exactly like my boyfriend and his brother even though he is his sisters child. But my cousin, who's mum is my Mum's sister, looks so similar to my oldest youngest brother. Genes are such odd things.

It was certainly a bump back down to earth today being back at work. Yesterday was such a lovely family day, full of love. When I was younger I always hoped I'd find a boyfriend who was family orientated and part of a close knit, loving family and I realised I've found it. I grew up with my brothers and cousins, always together, on holidays, days out and round each others house. I really want my own children to grow up surrounded by family, with lots of memories and photos. With three younger brothers, we'll probably have quite a few children between us, plus the children of our partners families. Its very exciting to think the next phase of my life is already in motion towards us becoming adults and leaving the family home to create our own home and family.

This has become rather a deep, personal post. Love does crazy things, huh.
Christening confetti. Got this habit from my Mum, collecting it haha.
 Primark French bulldog shirt <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">
 Primark Penguin jumper
 Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance set
 Whoops, more Boots 3 for 2 :)
I treated myself to a Jon Richard ring as it was in the sale. Its the most beautiful glittery, eye catching stone. I've never seen anything like it in my life. Its quite big, but I quite like that about it. Very much a statement piece. Its official name is "Mood Aurora Borealis Crystal Glitter Stone". The website also deducted £1 off my payment if I liked them on Facebook, how awesome is that?! Win win.

I didn't put it all the way down my finger as its stilled attached to the card and I don't want to open the ring too much.
I also received these pearl earrings in my delivery, with a sticker on the back saying "our gift to you". How lovely is that?!
Really excited to use this as my skin gets pretty dry in the winter, like a doofus I didn't get the cleanser too. Think I was distracted so I'll have to go back it.
So that's my week. Off to mine and the boyfriend's favourite Chinese restaurant tomorrow, hopefully a cinema trip to see Perks Of A Wallflower and its my brothers 18th birthday party on Saturday night. Its just for his friends but me and my boyfriend are staying in with my Mum to monitor from a distance ;)
Hope you've all had good weeks

The lovely Shannon of RaspberryKiss did this and tagged everyone, so here is mine :)

Quote from a movie: "Ohana means family. Family means no-one gets left behind or forgotten" Lilo & Stitch. This quote means so very much to me. I grew up with Disney and my littlest brother loved Stitch so Lilo and Stitch was regularly playing. This line is so iconic to me, it stuck in my head and in the past year its been a quote I've reminded myself of probably daily, as my family stuck together and helped each other through the hardest of times imaginable.

Right or left handed: Right

Yummy food that you make: I'm good at roasts, casseroles, roasted veggies and cake decorating

Zoo animal: Tigers, Penguins and Lions. Dying to go to Edinburgh to see the Pandas!

So that's me, in an A-Z nutshell. I tag everyone who wants to do it :)

336 Magenta Glitter

I simply can't resist glitter nail polishes. When my eyes fell upon the Barry M Magenta Glitter I instantly picked it up and bought it. When I painted my nails on Friday night my boyfriend asked why I wasn't using my new Models Own Wonderland polishes but I just had to wear this one.
I love how sparkly glitter polishes are but I wish there was an easier and quicker way to remove them. This looks quite purple in the bottle but is more pink when on. Its mad how fast my nails grow too, not even had this on two days and there's a clear millimetre!
What's your favourite glitter polish?
What are your tips for easy removal?!

Sunday Summary #37

Another week gone, another week closer to Christmas! My excitement is starting to escalate somewhat. I've finally kicked my cold, still sniffly and tired but getting there. Had a quiet week as my boyfriend was feeling run down and my house finally is half fixed after a flood at New Year. We've had no carpets or running water in the back half of the house so I keep forgetting we can finally use the bathroom out there again now. Shouldn't be long until the new carpets are down which will help as winter sets in as you don't realise how much a carpet helps with warmth until they're not there.

Had an eventful Friday as I accompanied my boyfriend to the Opticians. He made me laugh so much, trying on all types of glasses and some Vintage Where's Wally? round ones. Wish I'd got a photo! His eyes are pretty much perfect and then we did a random shop around Asda, as you do. Walked home with it all (ripped my arms off much!) as we had bussed there but it takes two buses to get back to mine. Was refreshing to have some proper exercise. Then went to get a Chinese for tea, in the biggest downpour we've had in ages. I left my boyfriend and Mum to look in the Co-op next door, got a EuroMillions ticket, which I haven't checked yet. I could have won! (extremely doubtful)

My baby brother turned 18 yesterday, couldn't wait to go out in the evening with the family, my older brothers girlfriend and my boyfriend. It was a surprise for my brother too, after a tough year we really felt we should do something very special for him. We took him to a local pub, which was packed because of football but he liked that. I really love pub food and it didn't disappoint. We then obviously had dessert and then welcomed him into the world of legal drinking with shots, jager bombs and goldschlager (never had it before, AMAZING! Need my own bottle at home). Went home very merry, wasn't the easiest of missions to walk in a bodycon skirt, in huge heels when I wasn't so stable on my feet. Plus with the pavements dipping up and down for drives, my boyfriend walked us in the road so it was flat. Heel fail haha. Luckily my area is pretty quiet so we didn't have to move off the road for cars. My brother got plenty of alcohol related gifts such as a hip flask, cocktail kit, shot glasses, bottles of alcohol and the like. It's very odd he's 18, I remember his first day at school! But its nice that the whole family can go and drink together.

I spent some of my birthday money yesterday too. I went back for some more Models Own and got some other goodies too. Not sure what I'll spend the rest on but not in a mad rush so will save it for when I might need it.
New LC novel :) My boyfriend found me a Sun Beam! :)
 Poundland finds!!!
Mum found me this Flamingo shirt in Primark sale
Mum also found me these jumpers in Primark. The Owl one can kind of compensate for the Debenhams one. Both £14, the Owl is an 8 and the Rabbit is a 10 (if they look different). My boyfriend's Mum has also said she might be able to knit me an Owl jumper! Sweetest thing ever.
Sims Makin' Magic was one of my favourite expansions and I was sad Sims 2 never had anything similar. I couldn't believe it when Sims 3 Supernatural was announced. I didn't pre-order and I didn't buy when it was first released. I then discovered about a week ago, several websites had sold out/prices gone up. I had to buy it in Asda on Friday. Can't wait to get a chance to play!
I ordered off Superdrug online (£7.99) and got all these samples?! Intrigued with the Lady Gaga, being the first black perfume.
Can't resist a Claire's Accessories sale. These were 3 for 2 also so absolute bargain for some pretty everyday earrings.
I was really interested in the new TRESemme Texture range. Its on offer 2 for £7 at Boots and I was just going to get two, but after being unable to pick I just got all four. I love having some texture in my hair so I will be trying these as soon as I next wash my hair.
l-r Freak Out!, Dancing Queen, Blizzard
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Watermelon, Rimmel BB Cream and Soap and Glory Supercat liner.
All make-up is 3 for 2 in Boots which I love! Will be making more use of the offer.
 Goldschlager <3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">
Birthday shots (I had Rainbow Sherbet and Cola)
So that's my week. I may not blog next Sunday as I'm off up slightly north for my boyfriend's nephews Christening but will post Monday. Can't believe this time next week we'll be half way into October!
Hope you've all had good weeks
