Sunday Summary #52

52 weeks of these! A whole year, wow wee! This week has been crazy with the UK being snowed under. I've loved having a white blanket and even though the temperature has plummeted I've been wearing six layers inside, adding my Superdry coat, hat, gloves and snood for outside. I've been toasty with just a cold face haha. Luckily transport wise its been ok getting around, the roads could have been better but could have been worse. Its been snowing all day today so it isn't going away anytime soon.
I made a little trip back to Primark this week to get a refund on some of the items I showed you last week. I hate the way all shops size their clothes differently and Primark are truly awful. I always have to look at the design and material to work out the size I might need. As I haven't shopped there for a while I'd forgotten how to size myself, my favourite item the blue bird shirt didn't fit my bust, wah. I did look at it buttoned up to under my bust but it looked hilarious. Praying I find a bigger size as they're currently sold out of it. I kept popping into Boots this week for cold relief and throat soothers for my boyfriend and nasal sticks, make up and eye drops for me and resisting the Rimmel Kate Moss matte lipstick in 107 even though I want it so badly. Since seeing it pop up on Instagram I want it even more and think I should just be brave and go for it - I can wear red so surely I can wear this deeper purple red?!
Last night me and my boyfriend finally had our long awaited first second date (the same as our first, but second time round to celebrate reaching a year) and we had an amazing meal before cinema. We went to Frankie & Benny's and I picked dough sticks for my starter - INCREDIBLE! Who knew such pleasure. My main was ruined by the overuse of salt, I hate salty food and I just couldn't eat it :( I went for the cajun chicken melt wrap and had such high hopes too. We skipped dessert and headed to the cinema. It was so cold even though I was bundled up that as much as I wanted an ice blast I didn't get one but also as we were seeing Les Miserables I didn't want to need a wee as I refuse to leave during a film. We got a bottle of water because my mouth felt horrible from the salt and we didn't have any gum. The film was amazing, I wasn't sure what to expect having seen it in the theatre but it is so well done. An amazing cast, playing their characters spot on. I loved the little Cosette, so cute but outstanding in her role. I can't believe Russell Crowe can sing, or Hugh Jackman or Anne Hathaway! A must see especially for Les Mis fans. I want to go and see it all over again. Should be seeing Gangster Squad on Tuesday which I'm excited for as I love Ryan Gosling and I think Emma Stone is really doing well for herself.
I've had the worst period pain this week. It started on Thursday and honestly I can't remember it being so bad recently. I've always suffered and tried every medication including IBS tablets (to relax stomach muscles, suggested by a doctor, they did ok) Nurofen Plus has been doing the job for the past year or so. I don't remember much pain from my first pill prescription. I had to change following a health scare and my current pill has been ok but I've still needed a high dosage of painkillers. This time was so bad I couldn't sleep and have ended up with a badly burnt stomach from so many hot water bottles and a burnt arm, where I fell asleep clutching the bottle to me one night. My boyfriend has told me not to have such hot water in the bottle but nothing else helps. If anyone has any tips or ideas I'd appreciate them :) I've also tried raspberry leaf (natural remedy).
This weeks buys:
Hello Kitty Liberty Of London shopper bag £12.99 (£6.49 at WHSmith, not online I just looked so only in store)
It has lots of London landmarks on it and Hello Kitty and her friends dotted around :)
Variety Club Monsters Inc pin, I got mine in Cineworld
Schwartzkopf Osis Dust It Texture £8.95 cheapsmells.com
Dorothy Perkins cat hat £8 - I live in these in the winter and not bought one this year!
Dorothy Perkins Pearly bead collar £7.50
Dorothy Perkins Peace bracelet £2
Dorothy Perkins Reindeer earrings £2
Boots VO5 Give Me Texture spray £3.49
 Primark nail wraps £1
Primark Anchor pumps £6 - I wanted these SO bad, my Mum got me a pair the same day I did so I have two :) which saved me going back for a second pair haha
Primark lace and stud collar £7
Primark hoody £8 - I changed the grey one for this and sized down
Primark polka dot and bow vest £8 - love the bows on the shoulder
Primark cotton polka dot skater dress £5 - bargain or what! This looks so cute on and will be perfect for a more casual occasion when I still want a dress
Ted Baker shopper £22 ASOS - This should be £29 but is set at £22 on ASOS. I love this little puppy print and I couldn't resist it. I love the little details on this bag such as the city names down one side of the bag and "no ordinary designer bag" down the other side. The puppy is on the back like the make up bag. I love little shopper bags as you can tell! I rarely take plastic bags and if I do its because I've gone shopping by surprise or mine are all full. I wish we had the law like Wales to pay for plastic bags as I bet we'd cut usage so much
Minnie Mouse shopper 99p Card Factory - another bargain!! This bag is quite strong and sturdy for the money (that light plastic with a foamy backing) its slightly bigger than A4 size. I used it to carry a days worth of clothes about the other day and they only filled it about two thirds with a bottle of drink and at one point had my bulky snood and hat in too. I look bag obsessed also in this post!
Models Own ASOS Exclusive Models Own in Party Pieces £5 - I found this by accident and am so pleased with it. Its full of rainbow coloured glitter pieces which I expect will look amazing on. Reminds me of OPI's Rainbow Connection, for a much lower price.
ASOS collar tips £4 (sale) - I love collar tips and wish more tops came with them. I found these in the ASOS sale and they are so beautiful. They have pink, blue and clear crystals so will go with almost any top I attach them to. They had ones with different coloured stones too.
Primark heart fleece blanket £3 - another bargain. Mum got me this. I already have about ten blankets but they are so useful as I get cold so I've always got one in the bed with me, on the bed over the duvet while I sleep, my boyfriend often sleeps with one, and we put one on the end of the bed frame because its metal and its cold on my boyfriends feet and for when we're watching DVDs in the lounge.

And some snow pictures -
So that's my white week. Hope you've stayed safe in the snow and its not affected your day to day routines too much.
Hope you've all had good weeks

Recent Online Orders

With my being tired and feeling ill I've been spending a lot of time online, and this often leads to the internet equivalent of window shopping.
My first few orders were with ASOS and New Look and everything got returned due to me buying the wrong sizes. I'm always over cautious and tend to go for a size up, I got a pretty purple dress from New Look in a medium that absolutely drowned me. I was tempted to run it through the sewing machine to bring it in but the fabric was so fine, I knew it would probably pucker under the needle and go wrong. I bought a River Island black lace dress from ASOS and again sized up thinking their sizes are on the small side. I have wanted a lace dress forever, like literally years but they are so hard to get to fit me. I got a gorgeous one from H&M last Autumn but it zipped up the side and although I exchanged it for the next size up to get my bust into it meant the dress itself would have been like a tent on my body. H&M I have found however do not allow for boobs. The ASOS dress arrived and again was far too big, plus it didn't look as nice as it did online.
As I work for Avon they often send out vouchers for other companies. Of late they have done some Dorothy Perkins one. The first I made use of was 20% off here, but the next one was 25%. A quarter off is pretty generous, as usually you get between 10%-20%. I just had to make use of it! I looked online and found a navy biker jacket. I have a cheap black one from Primark that is quite creased but navy is one of my favourite colours. I even showed the boyfriend the jacket and we popped through my local store on the first day of the voucher and they didn't stock it. I just had to have it! I ordered online that night and got two sizes to compare. I also found a block colour clutch that is being returned as its too big for me to hold and has no handle or chain. I got a pretty bunting necklace too and wish I got this one too.
Excuse the creases but it actually arrived like this! I thought a biker jacket meant it would be a bit tougher than this fabric. Maybe I should have read the description but if you look at this link, I feel it looks like navy leather/pleather. To me it does anyway, but lesson learned. Its actually a really nice jacket, but I don't really need it and I want a proper biker jacket.
With the Olympics and the Jubilee this year the country has gone mad for all things British and Union Jack. As a massive lover of this kind of thing I am loving it. My friend Kelly got a bunting necklace from Forever21 but neither of us have been to London since, its not on the website and its too hard to ask others for what I'm after. Hers is beautiful, made up of red, white, blue and union jack flags and I lust after it so very much. This is an attempt to satisfy that lust. Not as striking and not obvious (to me at first) its bunting but beggars can't be choosers.

Superdrug ever so kindly emailed me to tell me they had 3 for 2 on cosmetics. To me, that's more than enough bait to go and look. And if I look I always find. I had a little big massive list of bits I'm after. Now believe me when I say I had to be very restrained. Also I was buying bits for my lovely boyfriend, my littlest brothers favourite man scent for my Mum (I already have him a bottle for his birthday in October and Mum wanted one to give him for Christmas) and a few toiletries for me.
MUA palettes in Glitter Ball and Starry Night. The names are pretty apt for these palettes as they are what they say on the tin. Glitter Ball is a selection of intense glittery colours. I can't wait to wear these as I love glitter and they look pretty pigmented. Starry Night is your usual smokey eye palette, perfect for creating a dark smoulder with a lilac and pink shade too.
Maybelline Colour 24hr Tattoo shadows in Immortal Charcoal and On and On Bronze
I just had to get my hands on the Maybelline Color 24 Hour Tattoo shadows. I chose two colours I thought I'd wear the most. These have been compared to MAC paint pots which I find very exciting as I am pretty obsessed with them. I'm hoping these could also act as a decent primer to hold eyeshadow to my lid. I want to get the purple and blue colours in these as they look amazing.
I ended up getting a Maybelline Pop Stick over a Revlon Lip Butter as I want to see the colours in person. Bit disappointed with this Pop Stick, in shade Pink Sugar, I swatched it on my hand and it came back clear. I'm hoping as I break into the bullet the glitter will come out more. I also just had to add an Essie to my basket. So excited how easily available Essie is in the UK now! OPI next please. I got Lapiz of Luxury, bit obsessed with blue/lilac/bluey purple nail polishes. I tried this over Models Owns Beths Blue and its a few shades darker.
Maybelline Pop Stick in Pink Sugar
Next I stupidly went onto Topshop's website. Obviously going to spend! However the nail tattoos I have wanted for ever and regretted not getting when I had them in my hand in Topshop Oxford St! I bought two Fashion Targets Breast Cancer bracelets. At £2 each they are amazing value while helping a worthwhile cause. The hair clips were so adorable, I love carousels and I've never seen anything like them before. I finally caved and bought a Topshop lipstick. I've bided my time as there hasn't been colours that I just had to own. Add to that my local Topshop don't stock the range and I've never been too taken with ones in stores I've visited I never got one. Brighton Rock had always appealed to me but I had never found it anywhere or online so just assumed it was limited edition. I couldn't believe it when I saw it on their website and immediately added it to my basket. So really I needed all items, and two are helping others...
Topshop Brighton Rock - a bright pink, that looks very similar to Nicki Minaj Viva Glam.
Then I managed to find what looked like the perfect biker jacket on Miss Selfridge online. I literally couldn't order it fast enough, and it arrived today. It is so very perfect. I am so excited to own this. Its slightly creased from being folded in the bag but I've left it on my dress mannequin. Plus it adds to the look.
This necklace I've been eyeing up in Topshop for weeks but can't bring myself to part with the £14 for it. When I needed a little something extra to give me free postage I found this and added it.
I love it so much! Long + peace sign = perfect combination for me.
Such a long post but I think I need my password book taken away from me and my card details erased from my head.
I have a basket on ASOS as I write this...but I am going to save it for later.

Sunday Summary #14

Felt so tired this week, not sure why but hoping it goes soon. Been an exciting week as feels like plans for the year are coming together. Booked a long weekend away with my boy and I'm now hoping August gets here soon! Got lots before then to enjoy though so I shouldn't wish my time away. Very shocked May is just around the corner, time is literally racing past. Off to London on Wednesday for shopping and Les Miserables. I'm so excited, wanted to see it for ages and can't believe its finally here, feels like ages ago we booked it! Beyond excited for a week off work at the end of May, counting down the days. The boy has got it off too so will be amazing to spend my days with him. I have acquired quite a lot of clothing this week, but from my Mother! She has been finding all sorts of goodies for me, I'd seen the Primark tops but was trying to be good and not buy them, haha. The swallow cardigans I've had my eye on for ages and they went half price.
Scrapbook/stationery bits. Summer dress. Primark goodies Mum got me. George bits Mum got me. Dorothy Perkins purchases, new chain bag to replace > Primark chain bag. DP elephant necklace. DP Peace ring. New Look jewellery. Just one of many downpours this week. Subway in a basket! Huge sandwich! Chase and Status Live DVD <3. Sunday night tea of so juicy chicken, rice and roasted veg.

Longing for a Paperchase visit but I love stationery I always want everything! Really want these for my picnic bag ready for summer. The scrapbook is a project I'm planning but I can't say yet. I love finding stickers and ribbons and glitter for this type of thing. The past week has been constant thunder storms and torrential rain, I have actually quite enjoyed it! Hoping to get a storm during the night now, as I love how different it feels in the dark and being able to see the lightning so clearly. Still think the shops are in the horrible season transition stage where I can never find anything! I have tried believe me, I had a 20% off at New Look and was determined to find something, anything! I didn't even find any shoes which is very unusual as New Look is my favourite place for footwear.  Found some lovely pieces for my jewellery collection, I actually bought the DP stuff last week but left it at my boyfriends house. I've included a picture of my most loved bag in the whole entire world. I've had that chain bag since about 2006, and I absolutely adore it. Its the perfect size for everything: lunch, shopping, gigs, clubbing, meals out, pub, etc. This bag has been so many places and although its showing signs of much wear, it doesn't bother me just makes me sad. The DP bag's chain can change to be long like the Primark one or double up to sit more under your arm. I still covet a Chanel chain bag but until that day, these will do! Went to Subway with the boy and got given it in a basket, never had that before, probably to cut packaging as even when we eat in they still wrap it up for take out.
Had an appropriately lazy Sunday, made the boys scrambled eggs and toast and arranged it prettily haha. He won a long battle and we put the Change Up dvd on, although I was on SimCity 4 as I don't really like those sorts of films. It did make me giggle in parts though!
Hope you've all had good weeks. Pretty proud of myself and still managed to resist a Revlon Lip Butter purchase, although yesterday I had one in the palm of my hand...
It won't be long.
Em x
