Sunday Summary #56

Another week has come and gone. The light is starting to draw out, which means spring is on its way! Horray. Feels like so long since the summer ended. Its been pretty cold again this week, warming slightly this weekend and the sun has even made an appearance. I love how much happier you feel when the sun is shining. I didn't spend much this week as I was planning my Valentine's meal and sorting out birthday presents for next week. Its one of my brother's and my oldest youngest brother's girlfriends birthdays. Its been so hard to think of things after Christmas. My brother just got an iPhone so he asked me for a case and an iTunes voucher as he's always downloading music so that was easy. The girlfriend was hard as she's not as girlie as me so I can't cheat and buy her make-up. I had a brainwave on Saturday to buy her a travel guide as they're going away in the summer and my boyfriend found a huge mug as she loves coffee and hot chocolate.  As a family we bought her a go karting experience so finally all birthdays are done until June (I think!). I spent Tuesday evening at my boyfriend's for his Dad's birthday. We got a Chinese takeaway on the way home from work and I got the most amazing chocolate cake from Marks and Spencer's. Honestly their cakes are insane. I adore their food as you certainly get what you pay for. Their prices aren't too high and when the quality is so good it justifies the slightly higher price of a supermarket. I definitely got good girlfriend points for the cake as it went down a storm. Having Chinese on Tuesday meant we didn't want it again Thursday so opted for a three course home cooked meal. I wasn't too excited on Thursday despite decorating the dining room the previous evening as I was rushed off my feet at work. It wasn't until I was on my way home that I felt excited. We had a prawn cocktail for starter as we both love them. My boyfriend wanted steak so I had salmon and I got gastro chips, green beans and carrot, garlic mushrooms and mushrooms we fried in butter (naughty but heavenly). I got a cheesecake for dessert but we got the fondue out and we were so stuffed after a few fondue bites. My boyfriend doesn't like salmon so it was so nice of him to prepare it and cook it for me even when I insisted I'd do it. My lovely gentleman was very naughty as we agreed one tiny present, and he surprised me with a beautiful bunch of roses and a Me To You ornament (well over budget). It was so unexpected and I hadn't seen it yet so it was a huge surprise. I can't wait to have my own house with an ornament cabinet for all my treasures. I think it'll be amazing to have a collection you can look at and remember who got you what and when for.
We had a chilled evening in last night with a massive Dominoes order. The dough balls they do are SO good and I love their potato wedges. We started the Lord Of The Rings boxset last Sunday but I fell asleep halfway through so we watched what I'd missed and the rest followed by Toy Story 2. I am so excited to watch Toy Story 3, it could be my favourite of the three. We woke to a beautiful sunny day this morning and then we went to see This is 40 at the cinema. It was funnier than I expected but I hope my life at 40 isn't like that! There is one truly hilarious scene where they get room service...there was a trailer for a film called Side Effects that I can't wait to see. It stars Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum and Jude Law (babes!) and looks like its about a new drug affecting a Rooney's character and getting her into trouble. I originally thought it was the follow up to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as Rooney was the first you saw. I haven't got to the cinema much lately but there's not been anything much on so really looking forward to getting back into it.

River Island satchel £35 (ASOS)

I have wanted a satchel for years but I'm so fussy none have ever been bought. When I saw this I really liked it and being from ASOS knew it would be easy to return if I didn't like it after all. I literally gasped when I opened the box. I'm not a nude girl but there's something about this, I love the detail and the contrast between smooth and texture. I'm anxious it might rub on my thigh and get that awful dark mark but I'll try to walk more with it in my elbow than on my shoulder. This bag is so big too, I'll be able to fit loads in.

I made a cheeky order on River Island as my bag browsing led to me finding some jewellery I just had to own. I really like this types of bangles but some can be so expensive so I thought this was a great alternative.

Bit of a long story but when my Mum got her first full time adult job pay packet she bought herself a gold ring with four hearts in a row, two up and two down and she gave it to me when I was little. I've treasured it and its so special but I've never seen anything remotely like it. I won't wear this as a thumb ring but on my fingers. Its the most similar I've ever found so I just had to buy it!

My only purchase this week was for these! I only bought these two colours and went back the next day for the green and pink ones have sold out. I'll get them I'm sure. Mine were 2 for £6 in Superdrug and usually £3.99 each. Boots won't have them for a while yet so Superdrug is the place to go!

I'm working more hours again this week so I've definitely got the Monday blues tonight. Sigh, its all money in the pot. Me and my boyfriend are thinking of our summer holiday destination so that's getting me excited and it seems Spring may just be starting to creep in.

Sunday Summary #50

Wowee week number 50! Its been odd but amazing each week watching this number increase and can't believe I'm almost at a whole year. I'm really glad I've come this far though as I don't like giving up on things.
I'm really surprised New Year was Tuesday, only a few days ago but already it feels like ages ago. I had a chilled night in with my boyfriend, a buffet to nibble on and rubbish tv! I wouldn't change it though as it was special to see the New Year in with him and let all the turbulence of last year go. There aren't words to say how supportive he was to me but I truly believe we met so he could help me get through it all.
I finally saw Up on New Years Day, I've got the DVD but never got round to watching it which saddened me being a huge Disney fan. I cried like a baby after the first ten minutes, I won't say why incase it spoils it for anybody else, but it really pulled on my heart strings. I can't say I was overjoyed to go back to work but back into it now and making lots of plans to give me things to look forward to.
On Friday I did a little dash around town taking refunds back and then popped to Matalan. I got sale items so I'll put it into my sales post which will be up soon. Went with my boyfriend and our friend Joe to see The Hobbit last night. I wasn't too sure what I would make of it having never seen any of the Lord Of The Rings films but as soon as The Hobbit credits started rolling they wanted to know if I wanted to watch them. It has definitely intrigued me because Gollum is in there and you see The Ring/A Ring? I tried my best to follow the story and feel I did ok. At almost three hours long it was a very long time especially when I needed a wee after forty minutes, I'd bought a large cherry Ice Blast which I couldn't stop sipping and that can't have helped. I'd already had a drink in the pub before and a drink in the chinese before. I'd nipped to the loo before the film but you know you'll still need the wee pretty bad because you don't want to go for one! I kept feeling hot and cold too which didn't help the impending bladder situation. Anyway The Hobbit is very good, some breath taking beautiful scenes and quite easy to follow whats going on. I didn't understand the Gollum/ring scenes but my boyfriend explained a little and I guess if I watch the films I'll understand completely. I bought him The Hobbit book as he's misplaced his and as soon as we got home his nose was in it! Astounded that The Hobbit has been split into a trilogy but I can't think of anything that could have been left out of the film. And its left on a scene that makes you want to see what happens next!
I am far far far too excited for Les Miserables! I saw the musical last year and it was INCREDIBLE. I'm hoping for great things from the film. I'm not sure it will be able to capture the magic and atmosphere of seeing it performed live in a theatre but I'm prepared for a different feel to it on the big screen.
Me and the boyfriend should be seeing it as we've planned a date like our first date (same restaurant, then cinema) and it will have just come out when we've set the date night. We've been such social butterflies recently that we haven't gone out just the two of us, just shopping, so it'll be lovely to just be a couple for an evening.

 I nipped into Superdrug on New Year's Eve to stock up on cherry Batiste (£1.45 instead of £2.99, I LOVE the scent, and I haven't pictured the sickening number of cans I bought...) and I always have to do a quick reccy past the make-up and spotted the glitter polish, sparkling away, calling my name. And it was free when you spent £6...no justification needed! Its a clear polish full of red, green and blue pieces, very festive looking. I couldn't resist the Prickly Pear and I've wanted to try the Barry M magnetic polish for ages. I always wanted the one in the ad campaign (gold with black stripes and could never find it. I took a gamble that 344 was "the one" and hurrah it is! I've got a NOTD to post for it separately.

Matalan Ditsy Floral Canvas Stool £20 here

I don't know why this is called a stool, as I'd say its more a bin or storage box. Its quite sturdy and big inside. It's currently holding my Christmas presents in our hall until I get round to putting them out/away in my room. I've wanted this since the summer and always resisted as I have so much in my room already but its an investment and I'm sure it will look fine in any future room/home of mine.

So that's my week. Quiet but nice all the same. I feel more tired but that could be the extra time off. I've rested and slept much more and it seems to have made me realise how busy I've been lately and not taking moments to stop. I really want to continue this year at a slower pace. Today may just be too slow as I was in bed til three, and then back in bed at five. But I have been dressed since three so that's something!

Sunday Summary #43

Another week closer to Christmas eee! I really need to start my shopping! I never used to leave it this late but as I've got older and work, my social life and everyday tasks get in my way it gets later and later each year. I've very much excelled on my boyfriend's presents but that's mainly because his birthday is 2nd December and I ended up finding so much for him that I'll keep some for Christmas. Plus I've got themes of presents for him so I want to give him all the same themed presents together (if that makes any sense, I can't say on here as he reads it!).
I've come to the end of my long weekend and my plans didn't go exactly to plan. I had to make a trip to Matalan for a refund which is kind of out of my way but I ended up having a long walk and a visit into a Pet shop only to find the cutest baby guinea pigs for sale. I didn't find anything in Matalan just a top really. I got a £5 off voucher in the post the day before I had to spend £25 to get it. With my basket totalling £23 I bought a Christmas bowl to make the money up...kind of pointless but I can't bare being so close and not having it! And the bowl was free :) so kind of worked out.
Me and my boyfriend were off to a Christmas market on Saturday. I was so excited as I've never been to one and my boyfriend has always said he wanted to take me as Christmas is my favourite time of year. Literally the most laughable "Christmas market" ever. According to the press it was going to have over 150 stalls...cue me thinking little wooden huts, little stalls, festive smells, sounds and sights, lots of little bits to buy, endless choices of food and drink...what we actually got was about 15 stalls, of which most were sausages and about 3 selling craft. It was unbelievable how bad it was. So off we went home with a takeaway Chinese and an afternoon of rugby ahead while I switched my winter and summer wardrobes and filled a charity bag.
We went to see Breaking Dawn Part Two this afternoon...AMAZING!!! Absolutely incredible. I've never read the books and I didn't see the films until a few years ago. I didn't understand Twilight too well but I loved New Moon, and then I loved Eclipse more and then I thought Breaking Dawn was brilliant. Part Two was an excellent end to an outstanding saga which has fans all around the world. And as much as I want o hate Kristen Stewart for her infidelity I still love her as Bella and I think she looked beautiful at the premiere in London. I gripped my boyfriends hand a little too hard at the fight scene, I won't say anything much as I wouldn't want to ruin anything. I think I was holding my breath for the last half an hour and the ending really choked me up. I already want to go and see it again.
I've got such a busy week ahead of me and unsure how its all going to fit in! You'll find out next week when hopefully a day in pjs, watching films with my boy and getting rid of a hangover will have prepared me to blog :)

I expected to have an abundance of Christmas market photos...however a very big positive to my rubbish Christmas market is me and Mum are off to London on Friday and there's a Christmas market on Embankment...so I may just get my festive feel as yet. Plus new Primark near the Dominion theatre, Tottenham Court Road junction with Oxford Street (the opposite end to Marble Arch Primark) so yay! It sounds amazing as it says it has exposed brick walls, LED screens and a dark theatrical space for displays...I shall Instagram photos if you keep an eye out, I'm dolliegirl7.
Anyway that is all for now. I'm in shock over Ella and James being the bottom two in X Factor and Ella going, and now Helen is actually doing the trial on I'm A Celeb...what is the world coming to?! Haha.

Sunday Summary #41

Had a better week with work being an easier and happier place to be. Plus I have this week off, woo! The temperature has really dropped this week and it's just got so cold so quickly. The regular transitions between a warm building to the cold outside has been playing havoc with my skin. I am slathering on my Clinique moisturiser but its just not cutting it. I bought some Pond's Cold Cream so I'm hoping the combination of that, Clinique and E45 will soothe the dryness.
I'm loving the shops filling with winter warmers and Christmas stuff. I always spend so much during the winter months, its definitely my favourite season. Me and the boyfriend went out with friends last night for dinner and cinema to see Skyfall. We chose a pub we've never been to before as it was Fireworks night and our usual was near the park. Somehow the pub thought me boyfriend had ordered rump steak with scampi on the side, the manager wouldn't accept that his staff had got it wrong but when he saw the receipt as 1x scampi and 1x rump steak he soon disappeared. He wasn't really too apologetic but did refund my boyfriend the difference as he'd paid more than what we'd ordered. Even though it was a silly mistake it does really put you off for the future and we didn't really have time with our cinema time slot approaching. Naively we presumed the cinema would be quiet but our showing had sold out 45 minutes before it started so we had to go for a later one and ended up queuing outside the screen for absolutely ages. Plus the security guard was being an absolute arse, rushing about telling people off for trying to queue and tried to stop me returning to my group after the toilet. It wasn't until I told him my belongings were down there that he just glared at me and walked off. It was mad how busy it was and the amount of people was insane. The screen was packed but the film was so so so so so amazing! I've never been a Bond fan, I enjoyed Casino Royale but never saw Quantum of Solace. I really didn't expect to enjoy Skyfall so much. Now I'm eagerly waiting for Breaking Dawn as our cinema just got IMAX so the boyfriend suggested we see it in that! I do want to read the books at some point so I don't have any idea what will happen in Part 2.

I missed seeing a Fireworks display this year but by the time I realised it was yesterday I'd already made plans and couldn't change. There's always next year, so me and the boy compensated with a little sparkler fun in the garden. I've actually bought quite a lot of Christmas stuff but I'm keeping it for a separate Christmas craft blog post I want to do. It's very exciting to think Christmas is getting so close now and I truly love it. I don't really know what I'll be doing with my week off so I might have a lot of shopping next week ;)

Sunday Summary #39

Autumn is definitely making an appearance. We've had loads of rain this week, the temperature is dropping and the leaves are falling from the trees. Can't believe the clocks will go back next weekend, its already dark early. Its been getting dark while I wait for my bus home after work so it'll be depressing to go into and leave work in the dark. Thursday night was date night with my boyfriend and we stopped for tea at a pub. I had my first every curry! I really enjoyed it, I had a chicken korma and was amazed how un-spicy it was, more fruity. I used to hate spicy food so much but in recent years I've come round to it. I've learnt little tricks if my mouth is on fire. I'd been dying to see the Perks Of Being A Wallflower so we went to see that. I haven't read the book and didn't know any of the content but was amazed at where the story went at the end. I'd been in tears quite abit (Christmas Eve, flashbacks and typewriter moments) and really didn't see the ending coming. I thought Emma Watson was brilliant as Sam and Logan Lerman as Charlie was exceptionally believable. We were in the premiere suite which is so nice at our Cineworld. It has its own bar area and the screen itself is very intimate but private. The seats are much bigger and comfier, with much more leg room. Very excited for the release of the new Bond film Skyfall next week, but our cinema just got IMAX so all the good times are for that screen. Is it worth it? 

I booked tickets to London with my Mum towards the end of November. We're going Christmas shopping and she wants me to see the lights on Oxford Street etc. I haven't seen them since I was younger so it'll be nice to appreciate them as an adult. I love London so much and I'm very exciting to be going soon. I'm off shopping next weekend with my boyfriend to get his main birthday present (early!). He told me ages ago he really wanted a Superdry jacket so I decided to get him one but I need him with me to pick the design and size as I think they come up smaller and there will be some instances he'll have layers on beneath it when its cold. Plus I want him to be able to wear it as winter comes but his birthday isn't until the start of December. So when I let him on in my plans he was so pleased and we set the first date we could to go. Plus we need to travel for it and fortunately for me there is a Lush and MAC nearby too! Win win. I'm really interested in the MAC By Request collection but I want to see it in person before I buy. Plus its much more exciting shopping in a MAC store rather than online, even if I do spend much more in a store than online as you see me. I also want to visit Topshop as my local one doesn't stock the make-up :( and I need to look around Superdrug and Boots for the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte lipsticks. My local Boots has suddenly become appalling at stocking products, especially Rimmel. I want the 1000 Kisses lip tint in Stay Very Berry, but I can't find one. Plus they have the Kate Moss Matte lipsticks but as there aren't any testers, the lovely girls in my town have used the stock!! I'm dying to get back into a Lush store, I love them so. I usually miss the Halloween goodies so I'm hopeful to get something this year. 

I've been a good girl again shopping wise. I am getting so excited for Christmas as I got two more amazing presents for my boyfriend this week. He is so easy to buy for! Thinking of taking my Mum to a musical and I'm undecided for my brothers. My friends are very easy to buy for, and I often see things whilst looking about. If I don't find anything in London I might start panicking as it'll only be a month until the big day! 

Last night was my littlest brother's house party for his 18th. It was a very late night, with me having to nap on the lounge floor as I was just so tired! It felt so odd to not be part of a teenage party. When did I get so old?! The party went very well, no problems, except a faulty fire making me panic there was a fire! We're very fortunate to have a big enough house, that the party could be in the back and leave the main house relatively in peace, except for the bass from their sound system. Been so sleepy today, me and the boyfriend watched Breaking Dawn Pt 1. I got him to watch them with me in exchange for Star Wars but I hadn't seen Breaking Dawn. I was amazed at the acting and the storyline and how ill they made Bella look! So excited for Part 2, I haven't read the books and I'm dying to see how it all ends! Plus they have a vampire baby! And Jacob imprinted her! I need to calm down.

 My babe carried these home for me, decided to get some proper weights to do the Shred with rather than using cans of cocktails...

Everyone has started raving about the 30 Day Shred lately, which is exciting as it really is an excellent way to exercise in the comfort of your own home. I haven't actually done the shred for the entire 30 days as I became poorly and just couldn't continue. However I saw amazing results for the 10 or so times I did do it. I managed to loose my little belly pudge and tone my stomach somewhat. I'm planning to do the entire 30 days in preparation for party season so I will let you know how I get on.
