Sunday Summary #29

Another week down, and now I'm in the home run to a weekend away with my boy. Just four days of work left, yay! Currently watching the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. So sad it is all over now, really enjoyed watching all the events over the past fortnight or so. Its been amazing to see my favourite events (aquatics, cycling and boxing) do so well. Very proud of Team GB and all they have achieved. It's made me even more proud to be British and the legacy of this will go on for years to come.
I haven't done much this week except tidy my room, house chores and working of course. Started packing my suitcase already as I know I won't have time this week until Friday when I will have a million other things to do before I leave. I haven't shopped this week except a couple of things in Claire's Accessories on Friday and some holiday snacks. I've become increasingly frugal in recent weeks but also there isn't much clothing in shops right now as its between seasons and the autumn stuff that has appeared I can't bring myself to buy yet. I want to hold on until its more autumny weather. The weather has been beautiful this past week and like an idiot I actually burnt myself on Friday. I sat in the garden for twenty minutes talking to my brother, and caught my shoulder, back and arm. Felt so good when I got my boyfriend to rub after sun in, heavenly, I didn't want him to stop. Literally so excited to be going away with him.

Flash :)
I absolutely love Claire's Accessories at the moment. I always find something when I go in. I have been finding Topshop, River Island and Dorothy Perkins very boring of late. Accessorize always have something I like in stock but I haven't found anything in ages. Flash is my boyfriend's cat and he caught a mouse last night. I jumped onto the worktop while my boyfriend sorted it haha. Poor little mouse was no doubt more petrified of me, my boyfriend and Flash. Thursday night I had some strange happenings in my bedroom. My friend Marie went to see a psychic and she is very sceptical about them but text me saying she had received a message from her Nan. For her to say that, means whatever was said was so true and unmistakeable. I've been through quite a traumatic turn of events this year and had another rough ride in the past month. I was thinking how amazing it must feel to receive a message from the grave and what would my Grandad have to say if he was given the chance. I carried on tidying my room and sat across the room away from Togepi. Somehow she rolled forwards across the candle and over the keyring, down my speaker and chest of drawers and onto the floor. As I set her back in place I began to think how was it possible, there was no wind and surely she'd go backwards. I then noticed the Eiffel Tower necklace behind her was swinging quite violently, not a breeze swinging but a full on knocked or flicked swinging. I watched it for ages and it didn't slow down for ages. Oddly the necklace further away from her wasn't moving at all, surely a breeze would reach both. I text Marie and she pointed out how traumatic things had been and it could be my Grandad letting me know he was there, watching over the family. She said they never hurt you, just give little signs. I am a believer of the other world, not so much ghosts but more presences. It really upset me that it could be him, watching over me, letting me know everything will be ok. Then as I was falling asleep I have three fairy lights trails and a pink plastic bead string wrapped around my bed head frame. They moved quite strongly in the place where the necklace is. I tested it in the morning and it only moved and made so much noise if I really pushed it. My boyfriend isn't so sure, but I am pretty certain it was someone who isn't living anymore.
That was the excitement for the week!
I will very unlikely be posting my Sunday Summary next weekend as I will be away and it will probably be like this one with not much to show or say. I had a great Sunday today as my boy cooked brunch for me and his parents. He is a magnificent cook. Then we headed to my auntie and uncles for a family bbq. Lots of laughter and photos, plus beautiful weather! Just seen the Spice Girls perform which was amazing. I never ever thought they would all be together again, they all look amazing and I LOVED Emma's shoes!
Hope you've all had good weeks

National Anthem

Two reasons for the name of this post. Firstly because the British National Anthem has been played quite a lot in recent days with our haul of gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics. Secondly I LOVE Lana Del Ray's track of the same name. I love it so much its made me highly curious about Jackie O and JF Kennedy as her music video is about their marriage. So amazing.
Anyway this week's nails look like this:
I haven't had time over a hectic last few weeks to do anything except paint my nails all the same colour. This week I decided to go for multi colour nails with a crackle. I wanted something bright and summery so went for this. I love the results!
I used: Barry M 290 Spring Green, 305 Flamingo Pink, 294 Cyan Blue and 321 Gold Glitter Nail Effects
Just over a week until I go away for a weekend with my boy. Words can't describe how excited I am. I started writing lists today of what to pack, what I still need to buy and all the bits I need to get into order before I leave. I can't believe the Olympics finishes this weekend, it'll be so weird not seeing stuff about it online, facebook, twitter, tv and hearing about it on the radio. Its amazing the talent we have for this country and I am so proud of Team GB for all the medals and performances they've shown us.

Sunday Summary #28

Can't believe its another week gone and we're now into August. This year is hurtling past and before long it'll be Christmas! Had a topsy turvy few days, with uncertainty surrounding possible redundancies at work. Luckily its all ok and everyone is staying, for now at least. I can't imagine ever not working but I also don't think I could cope with the anxiety of my job being at risk. Then to be made redundant must be the worst feeling in the world. I'm so lucky. Had a brilliant week with my boyfriend as he's been off work so more free time. He went to the Olympics on Tuesday to see the Boxing which I was most jealous of. He had an amazing time. We've been watching it all week when we can and its incredible. Its definitely more exciting on home turf and with Team GB doing outstanding. So many medals too, its been so exciting to check my phone and hear from others when I haven't been near a tv. Me and my boyfriend went down to Colchester on Friday for shopping. Had such an amazing day, exploring and shopping. I am so lucky to have found someone like him. He isn't much of a shopper but he didn't complain once. We went to see Ted today and laughed our heads off. It is has such naughty lines in it, and Ted is one very bad bear indeed. I don't think I've ever seen Mark Wahlberg in a film before but he really impressed me in Ted, I was more into seeing how Mila Kunis did. They work so well together and some of the scenes between them are hilarious. Its mad how someone thought up the films idea. We also saw the trailer for The Sweeney which I have to see. Ben Drew and Ray Winstone?! Yes please. Planning to see The Dark Knight Rises a second time. It was so epic the first time and even though it was only a few weeks ago I need to see it all again.  Mum went to London on Wednesday and brought me loads of goodies back. Some are pictured below. She also got me a Union Jack cool bag and a Union Jack travel suitcase on wheels, its been great having so much Union Jack stuff popping up.
Making the most of Claire's Accessories 5 for £5 sale
I did the deal with my Mum so all of the above cost £1 each!
Primark Spending: Floral blouse £10, Leopard print sweetheart cut blouse £12, USA flag and Eagle top £6
I upsized on all of them as I like my blouses slightly flowy/loose and the flag top I want to be slouchy.
Free photobook from Photobox, through Facebook
Mum's finds in London. The photo doesn't do the jacket justice, but its navy with gold thread that only shows up in the light, tops and duck mitt, London themed pjs and top. More Claire's Accessories 5 for £5.
She also got me these bits from Accessorize and Forever 21.
I have Olympic Fever big time, so the headbands and jewellery are obvious. Couldn't resist the pin badge.I went into Build-a-Bear in Colchester and just had to have this one! So British I loved her.
I finally got my hands on an MUA Undressed palette and even better it had £1 off so was £3, crazy bargain.
 MAC purchases :)
Mineralize Eye Shadow in Smutty Green, Girl About Town and Impassioned
Light swatch of Smutty Green, Girl About Town and Impassioned
Yankee Candle haul

 Accessorize purchases
Tokyo, Paris, New York, London spinner necklace, Lindy bunny necklace, Owl necklace
 Vitrail pendant, so amazing!
Lush purchases. My boy picked for me :) Blackberry, Sex Bomb, Dorothy and Rocketeer
This case Mum got in London in the Claire's offer. I forgot it as its in use. I love it so much!!
I am so happy with the new little bits I've got this week. Its been so nice to treat myself after hardly spending in recent weeks. Definitely appreciate stuff much more when I haven't shopped for a little while. I only went into MAC for one lipstick but I always see more in store than online, you see the true colour of a product in person. I've been after Impassioned for a while and then I saw Girl About Town. I'd seen it pop up on blogs before but I wasn't sure I could wear it. Out of all the brights I swatched me and my boy agreed the two I got were our favourites. Can't believe they've gone up again but I have all the colours I want now except a couple so I'm not too bothered. I don't always like every collection MAC release so unlikely they've bring out ten colours and I'd want all of them.
Completely enjoying the London 2012 Olympics, so proud to be British and loving the medals racking up. I'll be sad when its all over but I have amazing memories from it.
Hope you've all had good weeks
