Sunday Summary #18

Sorry this post is a day late. Had today off work, as I just couldn't go in. Lost my voice and feel absolutely rotten. Its been another quiet week, lots of family stuff going on so just been working and being at home. My auntie and Nana have just been told by my Mum about my tattoo. I'd kept it hidden til now as they aren't the sort to approve, like my Nana went mad when my auntie got my cousins ears pierced and she got her second hole done, but both were remarkably fine about it. Just like my Mum they've said as long as I'm not covered they're fine with it, and less is more. I booked my second tattoo this week too, my artist is very popular and gets booked up very fast. Take into account some work can take most of the day, his diary quickly fills up. I'm getting a swallow done on my ankle, he helped me pick a design and I'm really excited to get it done now. Slightly worried about the bone, but like my wrist its the same sort of area and its worth it to get it done. Discovered I may actually be allergic to red onion yesterday. It's always given me a really sore throat and I bought a sandwich in town. I was meeting my boy for lunch and it never even occurred to me until I took a bite and discovered a massive slice of red onion. It was too late then and I just assumed I'd have the usual sore throat. By about four my throat was absolute agony, felt like I was swallowing knives and nothing would soothe it. I tried antihistamines, mints, mouth wash, brushing my teeth, fruit juice, fizzy drink, squash, food, sweets, chewing gum, everything I could think of. I was up most of the night as every time I swallowed as I fell asleep the pain woke me up. Couldn't wait for my alarm just so I could try a hot mug of tea but I was so tired I fell asleep after my alarm. Somehow got ready in just over half an hour, absolute record time! I can't believe I didn't think about checking my sandwich, I always check salads in restaurants and pick it out because I know the pain isn't worth it.
Had Chinese Thursday night which was so good. I love it so much more when I haven't had it in a while. Several online orders arrived this week but I will blog separately as some exciting bits to show. Had a wonderful Sunday with my boyfriend. We won a little bit on the EuroMillions this week so treated ourselves to a pub breakfast, a little shop in town and then back to his for roast with his parents and chilling. I was uber attractive falling asleep in his bed with the Vicks stick up my nose. I'd kept us both up Saturday night as I couldn't breathe and as I didn't sleep Friday night either I was shattered. His Mum is also poorly and had kept him awake Friday night. I've been in bed all day and my voice has returned just a very sore throat, a mans voice and a wheezy chest. I always get ill in May, I get hayfever really bad and am convinced it is linked somehow.

Topshop order. Superdrug order (part of). Primark purchases. Maxi dress, alternative colours. George earrings. Primark blouse. Bite and sting cream. Red hair. Dixie with my Dorothy Perkins order. New bedsheets from my Mum. New, unusued toiletries. Topshop order. Vicks to help me breathe. 

My Superdrug order actually came in two boxes and I haven't photographed all of it as half was for my boy. I got him a suncream for his holiday to Spain in June, deodorant and body spray, a present (which I can't say because he reads this haha) and some toiletry bits for me. I finally got my hands on the Lynx for Her. Like an idiot I let the spray pass me by, even though my brothers girlfriend bought one and let me smell it. Then someone at work had it and once the smell has settled its a gorgeous fresh watermelon. Cue me on a mad hunt everywhere to find it. Of course being limited editon and coming out about 3 months ago, its not to be found. I randomly googled it while I was picking my Superdrug order and it came up as being half price on their website. I had to force myself to change the basket quantity from 4 to 2 though...

Really annoyed as I found a biker jacket on Dorothy Perkins website that they didn't have in my local store. Avon had sent me a 25% discount card so I waited until I could use it online and ordered the jacket. I was gutted to receive it and find its a fabric jacket not as I imagined pleather. To be honest I don't want to pay £38 for a bit of fabric, I've now ordered a proper pleather biker jacket from Miss Selfridge online. Loving the collect+ system for returning online orders, coming in very handy recently especially as I particularly detest using the Post Office = sorted! Bought hardly any clothes this week, which is very good as I am bursting with clothes. My Mum is donating the top third of her wardrobe to me so I can store winter things in there and then switch for summer items as necessary. Had a re-shuffle of where I store certain clothes and happy with how I've organised it. Even managed to have a massive bag of clothes to donate to charity. Dyed my hair red again which I am loving. Pretty sure I last did it in October which is so long ago. I'm going to try to go a brighter red for my next time. I dream of going peroxide blonde and then red, but it would probably destroy my hair so much more than just my red dye job. 

I am off work next week YES so I'm hoping I can be well for that. Hoping for nice weather so me and the boy can make little trips in the sunshine instead of rain. Plus I am absolutely desperate for a seaside visit.

Parma Violet Girl

The first ever Models Own colour I wanted was Beth's Blue. I saw it in Company and lusted after it for well over a year. I found it in my local River Island and didn't buy it. When I returned to get it they had all gone (it was day 1 of their summer sale and I suspect it got reduced). Models Own then did their 50,000 likes on Facebook to get 50% off online. I think I got it then as I remember it was top of my list and I didn't order until a week after the code got released and I was surprised it was still in stock. It has sadly sat unopened and unloved in my box until this week.
It is the prettiest shade, and is a mystifying in-between shade of pale blue and lilac. I thought it looked like Parma Violets which made me crave them so I bought some but the sweets are a much paler shade.

This is such an unusual shade and one I love having in my collection.

Sunday Summary #17

So my tiredness finally turned into too much this week. Had Tuesday and Wednesday off work, as I felt poorly Monday evening. I went to bed early and woke up Tuesday with my whole body pounding. I couldn't lift my head or open my eyes and sent the boy a rambly jumbled text, no idea how he understood it as I'd used the wrong letters in words. I really thought I'd be back on Wednesday but woke really achey and weak. I went back on Thursday but should have stayed off, felt so rough and unwell. I feel so much better for the rest though, I now only have a fortnight til I'm on holiday from work and I cannot wait. My boy is away the weekend before to visit his uni friends but has the same week off so I'll be hotly anticipating his return. It was the best feeling in the world to finally see him Thursday, we had Dominoes for tea with my littlest brother and he stayed over. Was up at the crack of dawn to make his breakfast and see him off to work before returning to bed for another three hours. Epic! Went to Asda with Mum on Friday and bought some new sleepwear. She'd brought me home the CUTEST Disney Marie/Paris pjs bottoms which I adore. I wanted the matching top and bought a second pair of bottoms haha. After years of resisting Mum's attempts to get nighties into my wardrobe I got two! I had a return for Primark and it always seems to turn into another shop. I managed some right finds, including a bodycon skirt I only told Mum on Friday I regretted getting. I saw one on the rail and to my amazement it was a 10! My size, my lucky day or what. Add to that some shoes with bows (when my boy met me he always used to say how many things with bows I own haha) some sunglasses for one whole pound and a maxi dress. Cue one incredibly happy girl. I've had loads of online orders arrive this week, and sadly most are being returned. Bought a gorgeous peter pan collar dress from New Look but overestimating my size I got a medium that is miles too big, it just drowns me. The fabric is too fine to risk trying to make it smaller. I got a slip  too but again overestimated my size and bought it too big. Bought a River Island lace dress from Asos and as I never learn, got the wrong size. I also don't particularly like it on. Currently got a Superdrug basket sitting with nearly £100 worth of items because they are doing 3 for 2...

Another chain bag for my collection! Wanted this so much for ages and it was in the sale! I can't believe I found a sideways cross in Claire's, seems as if every blogger and their dog has this necklace. I looked up the meaning and quite liked it so invested a whole £3. Couldn't resist the Les Mis dvd, can't wait to watch it! I woke this morning with so many bites on my right leg :( just as I thought my skin had been given a break. So thankful again for my calamine lotion, the itching was incredible and they are so big. Had to be cold all day in summer pjs so I can keep them topped up with lotion as its messy and gets everywhere. The boy found my Mean Girls dvd the other night and amazingly has never seen it. Literally could not believe him, so we watched it today. Love it so much, seen it so many times and even the boy was laughing along. Then another film he'd never seen is Cast Away so we watched that after. I'd forgotten most of it as not seen it so long. So sad when Wilson floats away!

Recent MAC Additions

I'm continuing to expand my collection of MAC lipsticks. Due to not having a counter in my county I am quite careful about my purchases as I can only go by googling colours and swatches. I never seem to be near a counter when a collection is released which is really annoying and when I do manage a visit I'm often pushed for time. I usually opt for popular or pink colours. This time I was a bit braver and went for colours I wasn't too sure about but felt really drawn to.

I also received Costa Chic as a goodwill gesture after I complained to MAC. I haven't swatched this as I don't think it will be a colour that suits me. I'm planning to include it in a giveaway or give it to a friend.

I tried to resist buying the Nicki Minaj lipstick as it was described as a yellow toned pink. Being pale I've always stuck to blue toned pinks, I love this colour so much though. Its a very bright colour that I think suits me. I really want to show these on the lips but finding the time is impossible and I've been off sick from work today and I can assure you, my face isn't pretty. I bought Hue due to the amount of hype it gets. The bullet looks very nude and even on my hand it looks nude but on the lips its more pink, which I've fallen for. I can finally see why its so popular. Creme Cup is quite similar in the bullet, but on the lips quite a stronger pink. It looks so nice on I bet I will repurchase this pretty soon. I haven't worn Naughty Saute yet but it is right up my street - a bubblegum pink. With all the rain recently I've been sticking to Hue and Creme Cup, I had been wearing Nicki Minaj during March as we had lots of sunshine. I definitely think the weather affects the colours I want to wear.
I haven't worn Pink Popcorn yet either, only just arrived on Saturday. Its a lilac pink and looks like a more pigmented Pervette. I desperately want Heroine, but I just don't think I'd be brave enough to wear it!
I'm now looking to get some more daring colours. My boyfriend is going on holiday with his  friends in June so I have a list of MAC lipsticks I'm hoping he might be able to pick up in duty free. I'm going to try not to buy any until I see what he brings back...

Sunday Summary #16

Can't believe I've been doing these posts for four months now. How time flies! So proud I've stuck to it, my blog has suffered with recent going ons with my personal life, I've loads of posts I want to do when I get the chance to.
Another quiet week as I'm still feeling incredibly tired. I'm sleeping quite well apart from some bad nightmares but I think I'm so worn down and stressed with the last six months its taken its toll. I know with nightmares I need to ride them out but so hard when they feel so real. Luckily I don't wake from them. Monday night was spent in the pub and at Pizza Express, my first ever! I couldn't eat all of mine but the boy finished it off. Had doughballs, nom! And of course a dessert is always needed. Had a chilled out middle week and and then was out last night, pub again for a leaving and birthday meal. Seriously love pub food. Ended up chatting so much we didn't order dessert and just went home. Had my usual chilled out Sunday with my boy, eggs and toast for breakfast during which we usually watch the O.C, because he knows how much I love it. This week it had changed to an earlier slot so we missed it and ended up watching Hart of Dixie which has Rachel Bilson in (The O.C's Summer Roberts). Quite liked it actually and there's been loads of hype about it on tv and in magazines. Watched Bridesmaid this afternoon as we saw the advert for it on a dvd last week and it looked funny. I found it cheap and bought it but really didn't like it! It was funny in parts but honestly not my sort of film. Definitely like my grittier films.

 Online deliveries = happy girl. Pub drinks, wkd in honour of an absent friend haha. Pizza Express. Toffee glory. ASOS rings. Debenhams bag I've wanted for ages. MAC Pink Popcorn. Primark apple pendant. Primark duvet & mattress sheet my Mum got me. Another Primark rucksack because I love it so much! My boys massive 12oz burger! Debenhams massive package for a MAC lipstick. So happy to finally get the Red Herring bird print bag, lusted after it in their window for ages and last week looked at it in store. Walked away but decided I was going to purchase. Happened to be buying MAC online at Debenhams and a screen came up with a discount code which said it would only appear once, so I made the most of it! Actually bought more rings from ASOS but the rest are too big, I've packed it all back up to be sent back, love that you can just drop the box back at the post office, simple. My kittens are so good these days, after having them over a year (so not kittens anymore, but still) they have come out of their shell so much. I actually want to blog their story so hoping I get a chance soon! Placed another order on New Look tonight, can't stop buying from their atm. I really want this dress but its sold out :(
